Poker is a card game that is played by a group of people around a circular table. Each player receives one card face up and one card face down. The first player is given the privilege of making the first bet. Usually, players are required to contribute a certain amount of ante, which is a contribution to the pot.
When the betting interval is finished, the player with the highest hand wins the pot. If there is a tie, the highest card breaks the tie. In some poker games, there are also wild cards. Wild cards are cards that are capable of taking any suit. If one or more of the wild cards is in the hand, then the hand is considered to be five of a kind.
The lowest hand possible is 6-4-3-2-A. In some variant games, the ace is considered to be low. The kicker is the highest card in the deck in a hand of high cards.
